Evans's Place is at 661 Edwards Avenue, officially in Frankfort, Michigan, ZIP 49635. Pilgrim is the name of the closest little community, a few hundred yards away. Pilgrim, including the Congregational Summer Assembly, which owns the common land in the area, is two miles north of the "business district" of Frankfort, population about 1500.
The cottage itself is located on the mile-wide strip of woods between Lake Michigan and Crystal Lake. Crystal is Michigan's seventh largest lake. It's about 10 miles long, 2.5 miles wide, and 240 feet deep.
